Neocoat intumescent - S is a solvent base fire retard coating . It 's dries quickly . Upon exposure to fire or excessive heat, the coating puffs up and forms a thick, dense, cellularform to have required fire protection on structural steel.
Surface preparation
The steel surface to ensure it is free from oil, grease, rust, salts,
dust, and other contaminants that may affect paint adhesion.
Degreesing
Clean the surface using suitable solvents or industrial degreasers
to remove all traces of oil and grease. Wipe down with clean rags
soaked in thinner if necessary.
Rust removal
Perform abrasive blasting to achieve ISO 8501-1 Sa 2.5 or SSPC-
SP 10 (Near White Metal Blast Cleaning) for optimal cleanliness.
If blasting is not possible, use mechanical cleaning tools (e.g.,
wire brushing, grinding) to meet ISO 8501-1 St 3 (Very Thorough
Manual Cleaning).
